We have a pet...gecko. I use the term pet in the loosest sense. Usually, a pet is an animal who is welcomed into an establishment. Our pet wasn't necessarily welcomed and I haven't really found a way to discourage him from coming in. He came by the first night we were here but then I didn't see him again for awhile. He's been dropping in more regularly lately. I have no idea how he gets into the house. He just appears. Usually, he hangs out around the ceiling. He makes a few laps aroudn the perimeter then leaves.
Also, I think he's territorial. Or, he likes to brag to his friends. I say this because once he's in the house he makes this crazy chirping sound. Usually, he gets a response from his friend outside. I can't decide if he's saying, "I got this house....get your own." Or, "Hahahaha, I'm in!"
Either way, I think he's here to stay. I should probably name him...got any suggestions?

Hahahaha Classic-B
ReplyDeleteNo self-respecting gecko would want to be named Hahahaha Classic, B!
ReplyDeleteI say you name the gecko "JACK". Here's the logic. Jack is apparently male as you refer to "him" many times. Jack also appears to think of Jessica as his 'person' as he appears when Jessica is around. Thus the name JACK is perfect as it's a combo of J-essic-A and ge-C-K-o.
ReplyDeleteMichele is brilliant...go with Jack. I love your blog. How old are you today?
ReplyDeleteHi Jesica,
ReplyDeleteMichele has shared your blog with us and we are thoroughly enjoying it. Hope you do not mind. So much of what you are writing of are the same things we have experienced in Brazil. We do take many things for granted in the US don't we??
Great logic Michele on the gecko name. Everyone/thing needs a name!
