Update and Thanks!

Some people have asked some questions about my previous posts. Here are a few answers...

Yes, I did finally get another pan. I now have two fry pans and one pot (with a lid!). I still cook "American food" as Hugo calls it. I haven't mastered "El Salvador food" yet. Although, most meals for families in our financial situation usually consist of scrambled eggs, refried beans and bread. I guess that isn't really country specific and I can manage that meal just fine. Although I HATE beans, so my dinner is usually just the eggs and bread.

We also got a TV awhile back. When we got it all hooked up, we realized the antenna on the roof needed to be adjusted. Unfortunately, we don't have a ladder so getting onto the roof seemed to be an impossible task. I didn't notice when Hugo went outside. I was watching the TV, trying to decide if we could just tolerate the picture we had. All of a sudden, I heard footsteps on the roof. When I went outside, all I saw was two green flip flops on the sidewalk. Hugo had used the security bars on the window as a ladder and shimmied up to the roof. Good thing he was willing to try that because there is no way I would have!

When we lost water, it was only for about 12 hours. It came back at about 10am the following day. Unfortunately, I used the toilet's last flush (the water in the tank) the night before. By about 8am the following day, my eyes were floating and I was getting desperate. I used water from our 5 gallon Cristal bottle of water to fill the tank. I think it was the most expensive flush in the history of El Salvador.

Also, I wanted to tell you all thanks for your comments. Its good to hear from you. And...its good to hear your opinions on things. I've been here for awhile now (a month to be exact!) and I'm starting to go numb to the craziness. I've seen so much of it its hard to distinguish between crazy and normal! :)
